The organized tourism started in Podgora in 1922, when the first hotel "Praha" was built. Podgora was a small fisherman's village until the beginning of the 1960s. After the construction of the Adriatic main road it developed into a modern tourist resort with more than 2000 beds in hotels and about 3600 beds in private apartments
